I Love Your Work

‘I Love Your Work’ is an interactive documentary about the private lives of nine women who make lesbian porn. I spent 10 days following around nine different women, spending 24 hours with each one, and taking short, 10-second video clips every five minutes, filming whatever was happening. The project contains 2,202 of these 10-second clips (around six hours of footage), and I built an interactive interface for browsing through all that material. Most of the footage is ordinary (riding subways, checking email, etc.), but there are some graphic moments, too. The project is less about porn, and more about nine different women navigating the complexities of life, youth, fame, privacy, gender, and sexuality in America today.

The project is limited to just 10 viewers per day, and tickets cost $10 each.

American Ecstasy Red Band Trailer

They come from the middle of nowhere. They flee fine families and broken homes in search of experience and dreams. They travel the same interstates and back roads as we do. Trigger the same bells entering 24-hour convenience stores. Veer off at the same rest stops headed for places like the Adirondacks, Woodstock, Myrtle Beach and Tampa. And then they vanish. In the wake they leave trails run cold, memories of fresh faces and promising smiles later recalled by strange passersby.

These young women are now heroines of the American Ecstasy, the new feature-length chiller from celebrated photographer and filmmaker Jonathan Leder. An anthology film exploring tales of resilent women snared in a single terrifying, hallucinatory nightmare, fates left gasping in the gloved hands of a mad everyman, this is the movie that will prove, once and for all, that the most monstrous of highway predators is America itself.
